  1. The art of thatching is fast dying out in this district. I only know one or two good thatchers. Patrick Sully Bective and John Fynes Ennistown. I like to see them up on a ladder with a big bundle of straw on a fork on the side they are thatching. They get a small handful of straw and tie it at one end and stick it into the house with a thatching fork beginning at the bottom and ending at the top.
