    belonged to the Plunkett family.
    They lived in Rathmore Castle, which is about three miles from this school, and about four miles from Ardbraccan where I live.
    This is the story I heard. There were eleven sons as well as the father and they used to go out hunting every day on twelve milk white steeds.
    One day Cromwell was encamped on the hill of Ward after he destroyed Drogheda.
    He sent for the Plunketts and pretended he wanted them to come to a big feast. They set out on their milk white horses and the mother went up into the tower to watch them because she was very proud of them all.
    Before they left that evening they hid all the treasure of the castle in the Churchyard of Rathmore because they were afraid of Cromwell's soldiers. When Cromwell
