- Old crafts are not very common nowadays.
There is one man I know and he used to make baskets and candles from rushes, his name is Patrick Geraghty. My grand-mother used to make candles also.
They used to grow their own flax, wash it and dry it and then make towels from it.
We have towels still which were spun seventy years ago by my grandmother who is now dead.
Lime burning is carried on yet in this district by a man John Horan of Bective.(continues on next page)- Collector
