    There was a grreat epidemic of influenza in 1919. It is said that the "Black and Tans" and other foreign soldiers brought in the disease. It killed a great many people. It last about two years.

  2. A great many houses in this district were nearly destroyed by fire.
    First of all a man named John Kiernan had his house destroyed by fire on the 12th May 1923 and it was maliciously burned on one Sunday night.
