- I heard last night an account of old Crafts. Our grand parents tell us that in olden times or in their early days, candle making was carried on in every house by means of rushes dipped in tallow and left to dry.
Many people burned nothing else.
Basket making is still carried on. They are made of sally rods plaited together.
Iron gates and fire cranes are still made in forges.
Spinning and weaving were done countrey in years gone by, it is now only countinued in the west of Ireland. Thatching is a common(continues on next page)- Collector
