    through the country burning all the churches, and on this account mass used to be said in stables.
    People used to make secret paths to these stables and the priest used to say mass in them very early in the mornings and after mass he used to hide in the houses.
    One place I heard of where mass used to be said was in Dunderry in a stable belonging to a man named Mr Barnwell.
    Another place, where priests used to say mass and also to hide from the soldiers, was on an old loft in Jamestown, this loft belonged to a man called Mr Mc Soughlin.
