    potato crop grow a lot of weeds which are kept from growing by an implement called a grubber.
    In Autumn the potatoes are taken from the ground with a spade, but now a great mamy use a potato digger it is drawn by a horse so they have only to be picked from the top of the surface and carted to their homes.
    They are put into a pit covered with straw, and over that a covering of clay, they are kept dry and in good order for use the whole winter.
    The most common sort of potatoes grown in our district is Kerrs Pinks, British queens, and Shamrocks.
