It is twenty years of age. There are two parts in it and the top is called the "Crib". there is a dash with it and a round lid.
Butter is made oftener in Summer than in Winter especially when milk is plentiful.
The wonam of the house does the churning and strangers help at the work if they happen to come in. It is said that if they go without helping at the work they would "bring" the butter with them.
It takes twenty minutes and sometimes a half an hour to do the churning. The churning is done by hand. The dash is always moved upwards and downwards.
