We churn once a week in the Winter and twice in the Summer.
Hot water is usually put in the churn in the Winter and cold in the Summer.
If strangers come in during churning they take a turn at the churning for it is said that they would "bring" the butter with them if they did not help.
It takes about ten minutes in the Winter and a half an hour in the Summer to do the churning.
