- Generally people when they are lighting a lamp or a candle they say "The light of heaven to us all."Another prayer I know is -
"I lay my body down to sleep,
I pray to God my soul to keep,
And if I die before I wake
I pray to God my soul to take."Here is another prayer I heard:-
