  1. (continued from previous page)
See bright eyes with pleasure glistening
    Blushing maid and bashful swain
And the youth's proud glances as he leads to dance the village belle
Here they cry Oh shes the Lassie
    Brings the sway from Corawell

    (IV)
Oh twere but a mocking vision
Gone are all our rural joys
    Gone like childhood dreams illusion
Vanished with our girls and boys
What to me are nature's graces
    Sunbeam, Songbird, bright bluebell
Whilst I miss those kindly faces
    Laugh and song from Corawell.

    (V)
Shall we n'eer renew those pleasures
Laugh and song and bagpipes strain
    Friendly meeting sprightly measure
    Shall we never share again
Ah when out from tower and steeple
Bells shall peal our slavery's kneel
Then you'll see our vanished people
    Dance again round Corawell.
