"The Spraying Machine" was one of his late ones. Like all the rest of his songs it had the politics of the time interwoven, for example:-
The grazers may laugh for the battle is over,
No more they'll be worried for taking the land,
Their bullocks may peacefully fatten on clover,
Nor dread the approach of an enemy band.
For comfort and plenty will smile on each farmer.
So happy their lot will be morning and e'en,
And all through the use of this elegant charmer,
This grand and invincible spraying machine.
