  1. Some years ago there lived a man who lived in Windtown, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath. Every morning he got up and went out to milk the cows.
    When he went out to milk the cows he got no milk. One morning he went out an hour earlier to milk. He brought with him a gun and a crooked sixpence. When he reached the cows he saw a hare drinking the milk from the cows.
    He put the sixpence into the gun and fired at her and wounded her.
