   There are nearly as many plants growing in both the hedges and fields that we can hardly name them all. but here are a few plants which are called by these names around our district by the local people.
   "garlic," this herb is great for a bad cough.
   When people around our district catches a bird the most thing they give him to eat is "grounsill."
   They also feed their pigs with bunches of "Dalkins."
   When old Farmer Brown's turkeys get old to eat rough food one would see him giving his daughters a can and a knife and telling them to go and pick the nettles that grow along the byway in order to boil them for his turkeys.

   Besides making use of these herbs to eat people make use of these herbs in order to cure sores.
   The milk that is got from the dandalion if put on a wart will cure it after three days.
   Mrs. Fay of Clonmellon who died about five years ago had the cure of rheumatic pains. This rub was made from ash-leaves, lickrious and first shot whiskey. Many people during the spring give "Bog Bean" to their children in order to keep their blood pure.
   This herb only grows in marshy places such as bogs
