    Local Cures
    A burn.
    Get some man who has licked an Alapucker to lick it and he will cure it.
    A wart.
    Go to Rose Dunne, Rochfortbridge, and count them for her and in a few days they will be withered away.
    A thorn.
    If you go to Mrs Maguire, Kilbride, she will give you ointment she makes and after the third piece of ointment you put on it the thorn will come out.
    Chillblains.
    Kate Cahill, Rochfort Bridge, makes ointment and after the third rub of it they die.
    Mumps
    If you put an ass's winkers on the person and lead them out to the pigsty and say to the pigs, "Mucks, mucks take the mumps away"
    A stye.
    If you have a stye in your eye go to a
