- The local fairs are held in the street of Tyrell's Pass. Long ago the fairs used to be held in Killevalley in Mr Claffeys field. It is never called anything only the fair green. It is just on the side of the road and an iron gate leading into the field. At the far end of the field there is a wall and there is a plate on it and the dates of all the fairs are written there. The buyers of cattle go to the cross roads an wait there for the cattle to come in.
At the present time the fair is held in the street.
If a man has cattle in the fair and if a man comes and buys. The man that buys the cattle gets a luck battle.
When men are making a bargain they clap each other's hands.
Animals when sold are marked with a raddle or with some kind of a coloured mark.
When an animal is sold with a halter on it the man either alows him for it or it is retained.
