- A Funny Story
The 6th of January, being 12th day; there was a fair in Mullingar. A man by the name of Michael Christy sold a pig. With the money he got for the pig he got drunk.
Going down Church Lane he heard singing in the Protestant Church. He went in and started singng. "Look down oh mother Mary" The minister shouted "remove this man" Two policemen got up and brought him out. The policemen asked him outside what did he come in for. He answered, "Ah sure I was too dirty to go the Mass"
