The great fairs of the year locally are Tullamore, Mullingar, Athlone and Kilbeggan. There are special fairs held for the sale of sheep or bonhams or horses in Tullamore, Mullingar.
- About two miles outside Kilbeggan called Killalorian. Fairies are supposed to be living in this forth. I will relate the story just as I heard it.One night a man was going home from the town.
