It is not right to dig forts as it is said that the fairies would bring some bad luck on you. Some people would believe that but it is only superstition. If a lone bush grows on a fort it is unlucky to cut it down or touch it as it belongs to the good people. - My father told me this story about a fort we pass on our way to school.
