  1. Old Nellie Harte who lived in Ballygarvey used to make rush candles. The way she made them was. She got a handful of rushes and peeled them. Then fryed fat on a grisset then draw them along in the greece and left them up to dry and then she had her candles made. She was also a powerful spinner.

    Wheel and cart making
    Ody McLaughlin, Croshea and James Mac Dermot, Mostrim can make carts and wheels. Old Jack Duche who is not very long dead used also make wheels.
