  1. At the marriage ceremony it is said, that the bride should wear
    Something old, something new,
    Something borrowed, something blue.
    It is also said that an old boot should be tied to the car in which the marriage party are driving, to bring luck. If the bride comes back to her mother's house before she is a month married, it is said to be unlucky.
    If the couple do not change their surname it is supposed to be very lucky: for example, if Mary Greene married John Greene this is supposed to be lucky.
