- In a glen in the district of Clough-Brain there is a Mass Rock. It is about two miles north of the village of Mount Temple. In the penal days the priest came occasionally to this glen clad in the rough clothes of a beggar, to say Mass for the people who were lucky enough to know of his coming.
Not far from the rock is a cave where the Priest found shelter from the soldiers when they came searching for him. This cave extended north through a hill for about half a mile to the edge of a stream.
A man named Dillon lived among the hills of Clough-Brian. He was a good friend of the priest.
He gave him shelter and food, while he remained in the district.- Collector
