  1. In the townland of Mt Temple about a half a mile from the village in a field owned by a man named Dolan there is a holy well.
    The story goes that as Saint Patrick was preaching to the people an old man whose body was covered with warts came to him. St Patrick seeing him was filled with pity and he said here bathe your warts in this well in the name of the Blessed Trinity and in my name Patrick. He lifted up his right foot which had worn a hole in the rock. There was water in the hole. The man bathed the warts in the water in the well and the warts all
