    wanted to be brave for sake of winning the hand of the fair lady whom he had just left, but in spite of all his efforts his legs became lifeless and he could not move from the spot where he had encountered the ghost. He remained there until morning unable to move hand or foot. A kind neighbour on his way to the bog came to his aid and assisted him to a nearby farm house, where with the aid of refreshments he returned to normal. He was then put to bed where he remained for a week. When he was fit to get up and resume the activities of his love making, he discovered the woman of his choice was now the wife of another man, and to add to his (h) grief he was told that the ghost he saw was none other than the man Pat Moran's puck goat.
