    John Owens used to teach in Corlea, Foigha, Kenagh and Coolnahinch and in all the neighbouring townlands. He used to go round riding side saddle on a donkey. He taught all at night. The scholars used to give him a penny every night to support him. John Owens came from the County Limerick in the time of the Redcoats.
    I got this story from James Clyne ages 80 years on the 10th January 1938.
