- There are two graveyards in this parish, Ballymahon protestant graveyard on the church grounds and Shrule catholic graveyard in the parish of Shrule. Ballymahon. Both are commonly shaped like any field. There are four other old graveyards on the borders of this district. Killcommock, Abbeyshrule, Cloncallow, and Saint's Island. There are ruins of an old chapel in Killcommock, the graveyard is still in use. There are two or thee people buried in the ruins of the chapel. There are ruins of an old Monk's abbey in Abbeyshrule graveyard. It is supposed to be haunted by a witch every night. The graveyard is still in use. Cloncallow, Shrule and Ballymahon graveyards are still in use. Unbaptised children are buried in St. Patrick's well field, Terlicken. There are three or four children buried there, there are slates of flat stone over each of them. One of the stones has a holy water font in it. There is an old graveyard between Forgney and Cloncullen. It is round in shape and has trees growing round it. It is not in use now. It is very old and there are(continues on next page)
