- Mr. Skully's house of Newtowncashel, took fire. It was a public house. There were no lives lost. All the people of town helped to quench the fire. The family would be all burned only a neighbour wakened. This famialy is not in Newtowncashel now. The chimney caught fire and then the house caught fire. This happened about thirty years ago.
