- (continued from previous page)A road from the main road to Lower Cullentra was made about nine years ago. In Winter when the Shannon used to rise the people could not get out except on foot. The road was made by these people.
From the crossroads of Fermoyle to the Turlough is called the "Turlough Road" and from the crossroads to the Shannon is called the "Shannon Road". - There is a road leading from Luke Killian's to the Shannon called the "Fermoyle Road". The "Blenavoher Road" leads from Charles Martin's to the Shannon. The "Curragh Road" is long and so called because it is situated in a lowlying swampy place.
In olden times people went on paths. There is one leading from Cullentra to Rathcline and people went by this path to Mass. People used to go by this path also when going to work for farmers in Rathcline.
