    Asthore Machree I'm lonely now since you have gone away
    To taste the joys of country life and ramble where you may;
    Through woodland dells where songbirds sing o'er the sloping hill,
    To pluck the summer flowers that bloom at lovely Columcille.
    2.
    There charming scenes will meet your gaze wherever you may stray;
    The verdant woods, the meadows, green, and mountains far away;
    And you heart will thrill with gladness, if you linger on the hill,
    That overlooks the valley by the town of Columcille.
    3.And should you travel down the road; rest by the rippling streams;
    And watch the golden sunlight rays upon its waters gleam;
    While songbirds in the thickets sing their music sweet; until
    It seems a padadise on earth at lovely
