Tom O' Catháin (Kane) known as Captain Rock with a companion named Terry McGlavin fought very bravely at Ballinamuck. Catháin went to Manchester; became a manufacturer named Kane & gave much employment to people from this district. Barrack:- Built by Lady Ross - 1835. Old one was just opposite J. F. Cassidy's.
