    He was very poor and his landlord who was noted for his cruelty to his tenants was pressing him for the rent. Garry could not pay and at last got notice of eviction. The neighbours were very sorry for him. They held a meeting on the night previous to the eviction and decided to say the Rosary in the name of the devil for the devil to take the landlord. This was done and the next morning the oppressor was dead. "The devil took him" laughed Garry.
