  1. "For all sorts of diseases there are many simple cures handed down from our forefathers.
    A cure for sore throat. Roast blessed salt and put it in a sticking and tie it round your neck and it will get better.
    A cure for warts. Rub a snail on the warts and stick him on a thorn. As the snail is withering, the wart is wearing away.
    A cure for a sty on the eye. Point nine gooseberry thorns to the eye and bless yourself with the tenth, and throw it away.
