- My father was telling me about game he used to play when he was a boy. It is much like Hurley only the sticks they used were straight at the ends and not curved like a Hurley stick. There were eleven players each side and the ball was like a golf ball they used. If a player got the ball and one of the players on the opposite side was be side him he could hit him with their sticks to make him droop the ball and you would see some of the players with black marks on their bodies.
