  1. When the Tans were in Mostrim a shot was fired and it hit Mr John Hughes' window. When the Tans were in Mostrim my father was living in Cranly and he had to go down to the bog to hide or else he would be shot.
    One evening my oldest sister was for the milk and shots were fired over her head. An uncle-in-law of mine named John Donohoe fought against the Tans at Ballinalee and a bullet went through his coat and knocked out a button.
