    would not come up. About twenty years ago six neighbours went to see the rath because there was supposed to be gold hidden in it. They brought spades and shovels with them. They broke down the briars and they started digging. They dug away until they came to a big stone flag they were certain they had the gold. They were at the flag for a half hour. No sooner had they the flag up they saw a can of gold and a big black cat sitting on the top of it. One of them made a stroke at him with a shovel but the cat flew into his face and scratched him
    They had to go home without the gold. The gold was supposed to belong to an old woman and when she was dying she hid the gold.
