- St Ibar lived on an island named Beggerin. He built a church and a monastery there. The people did not know his name but they called him after some yew trees that grew on the island. He did not travel around the country. He stopped on Beggerin Island. He had lovely books in his church. After a while the Danes came. They landed on Beggerin Island and took all the gold that St Ibar had in his church and monastery. They burned the books, monastery and St Ibar's church and put to death St Ibar. There are no remains of the church or monastery.
