- When the rebellion was in Wexford the English soldiers or Redcoats as they were called went around the country and killing and burning the Irish peoples houses. One night when they were going through the country they saw a house. They decided to go over to it. In the house there were three people two brothers and a friend. The three men were United Irishmen. They heard the English coming and they began to load their guns to fire at the English. One of the Irishmen said that he would
