    as he had no bullet left, he could not fire back at them.
    At last he could stand it no longer and he fell flat and crawled along under the wall on his stomach. When he was near the mouth of the alley, he found a stone marble that some children had left behind. He went back to his comrades, put the stone marble into his rifle and fired at the Yeoman that was leading the attack. The stone hit him on the chin and he let his rifle fall, and before another Yeoman could take the hurt man's place, Hogan's little band climbed the wall and made their way out at the north side of the town.
    Hogan now brought his men to Kilkenny and there after a lot of trouble he got twelve Kilkenny men to join him. They marched back towards Wexford and when night came Hogan told the Kilkenny men to stand guard while the Castle bridge men got a few hours sleep. The Castlebridge men had had no sleep for three or four days and it was five o'clock the next
