When the potato crop failed the people used to eat Rye bread which was coal black, and also bean bread, and turnips with yellow meal and even of this they did not get much.
The name of this sickness was called the "Black Fever". The Government Relief did reach this district as all the roads were made at that time as is written in the Official Book Volume 1 Local Roads page.
Any people that could went away to America at that time.
