  1. Our Cows
    The names of our cows are Bawny, Primrose, Daisy, and Strawberry. When we are calling the cows we say "Bale up, bale up," and when they are going out we say "Bale out, bale out."
    There are three of our cows tied up in bales, and two in chains.
    The bales are two long wooden sticks - one is stuck down in the ground, and the other one is put slanting. The cow puts her head in between the two, and they are then fastened with a hasp.
    In this way the cows are not harmed. The bales are made by my father at home, and the hasp is made by the blacksmith.
    If a cow has no horns we always call her a "maol" cow. When a person sits down under a cow, they sing, for they
