    eaves and puts in the "scollops". "Scollops" are made from sally trees or young firs. They are cut to certain lengths and twisted. These are put into the thatch to give added strength.
    Besoms used to be made in every farmhouse from the broom which would be collected or gathered as it was wanted.
    Clothes brushes and polish brushes were made from horse hair, and are made in certain places still.
