    “The landlord in my district for many years was Mr Moffat of Ballyhyland.”

    The landlord in my district for many years, was Mr Moffat of Ballyhyland. He was looked upon by the people as a very good landlord. He was never known to evict anyone he was very kind to the poor. His family was in possession of Ballyhyland for about 90 year's. A Mr Howlin was landlord before Mr Moffat's time he resided in the same place.
    The greater part of the farm was under plantations.
