    Unlucky Days
    Friday is supposed to be unlucky to do any business or to go on a journey.
    The 13th of any month is considered unlucky to do important business, go on a long journey, or to get married.
    St. Martin's day Nov.10th on this day no mill is used to grind corn. Fishermen are reluctant to go to fish on this day.
    Cross-day. Thursday is considered to be a cross-day. As a rule people do not get married on this day. The 1st May or indeed any day in May is considered unlucky to get married.
    Borrowed days are the days borroed from March to "kill the old cow". It is supposed that old cow could not be killed and April borrowed 9 days from March. When the first nine days of April are cold and windy people say those are the borrowed days - or "skinning the old cow.
    Friday is considered unlucky to remove into a new residence.
