The hut on the banks of the Slaney
    There's a hut I know by Slaney's side
There are lads I know you will find inside
There are songs thorough the night
that are heard far and wide
From that hut on the banks of the Slaney
Its not a grand place by daylight seen
Not grand or imposing you know what I mean
But at night with an army inside it would seem
To have room for the rest of the county
There are ladies there with a light in their eyes
And features that only themselves dont pride
And a man not thrilled is a man telling lies
Blind drunk or asleep in a corner.
There are old songs sung of this land of the free
Old times come back like the leaves to a tree
There are dozens of stout and beer you cannot see
In the hut on the bank of the Slaney.
