  1. There is a very old church-yard in Old Ross.
    It is a very small one, and there are laurel trees growing by the walls.
    There are a large number of Protestants buried in that church-yard. There is an old Protestant church situated there, also, which was burned during 1798. There is also an old churchyard in Carnach. There is also an old story which says that after the Battle of Ross, seven English soldiers took refuge in the church.
    The church was set on fire by someone and the seven soldiers were burned to death. There are some very old tomb-stones in Carnach.
