- From time to time we hear many local beliefs with regard to the weather. I have heard some of them such as, if March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb.If November remains fine it will shorten the Winter. The hard weather never comes until after Christmas. March and April showers bring forth May flowers. February fill dyke be it black or be it white if it be white the better to like.The signs of good weather are, a halo near the moon, a rainbow at night and a red sky at night.
