It became a terrible place for fighting There were party men who used to pride out of their fighting abilities expecially the Mollins, and Keehans, the Briens and Horans. One fairday the Charliville clock struck one. A man shouted there's one o'clock and not a stroke struck yet, he struck the first man he met, with a stick on the head, immediately there were scores of men fighting. After that Fr. O Rafferty P.P of Tullamore had the fair abolished.
