  1. Lent is the only time of the year that people don't marry, but any other part of the year people marry.
    Wednesdays and Saturdays are the days that people marry in this district.
    Forty or fifty years ago the bride and bridegrooom and bridesmaid used to walk to the church and walk home again.
    After the bride and bridegroom are married the people throw confetti on them and when they go home they have a great feast.
    The feast is always's in the bride's house.
    After breakfast they generally go to Athlone.
    When they come home from Athlone they have a wedding
