    I will sing you a song if you now hold your tongue.
    Its about a "buck hare" and the course he did run.
    He started from Maken and he first took his flight.
    And he landed in Gurteen three hours before night.
    He turned back again through the bog he did run.
    And took up his lodgings in the bushes of Bonn.

    Early next morning, he started for "Cois"
    And there he met "Monto", "Mick", "Martin" and all.
    And they ran the poor buck into Killnagall
    Where Dooley and Connors were huntin the buck they did spy,
    They never cried "crack" till they ran the poor buck into sweet Clontyglass
