   there are only three forges in this Parish. One of these is in the townland of Blue Ball owned by Samuel Murphy. there is another in the town land of Gurteen. The other one is in Killoughey owned by Pat Molloy. In these forges most of the work is done inside in the forg.Wheels ae bound outside the forge. In these forges there are clay floors. In Samuel Murphy's forge the fire is on the middle of the floor. This smith shoes horses and donkeys, and he also repairs ploughs and harrows and other implements.
